Funny Face Films

Funny Face Films will allow kids as young as 6 to experience the magic of film making. This innovative workshop lead by one of Australia’s leading dancers and family photographers, Tina McErvale, is made up of two parts.
Part One: Tina will explore expression and dance by working on a “choreography of emotions” with participants. This emotive choreography will be photographed by the participants themselves.
Part Two: After all the action there will be time to unwind and watch a session of children’s short films courtesy of Heart of Gold International Film Festival. The last film screened will be specific to the workshop as Tina will edit together the kids own images to create a short film of their own.

Age suitability: 6 – 12 years
20th – 22nd May
Duration: 90 minutes

Humarimba with Linsey Pollak

(Only 12 places available)
In 1988 Linsey Pollak invented the “Humarimba” a marimba (or large xylophone) played by three people and suspended from the belts of two of the three players. Since then the Humarimba has become a mainstay of Linsey’s community music work. To date, the Humarimba is still a vital part of Linsey’s community music work. Linsey’s Humarimba workshops are “hands on” for a maximum of 12 people (10 – 12 years of age). In these workshops participants will play pieces composed by Linsey specifically for the Humarimba.
